College Events

The Smith community comes together for events throughout the year. From the first Rally Day in 1876, to Julia Child Day and the Sherrerd Teaching Prizes, begun in 2004, the college's annual events honor our students, faculty and alumnae for their accomplishments; bring families to campus for a taste of college life; and give students an opportunity to learn, reflect or just have fun.

Get Ready to Rally

Thursday, February 26

One of Smith’s most treasured traditions, Rally Day marks the first time seniors wear their graduation robes, complete with creative (and often homemade) hats. Distinguished alums receive Smith College Medals awarded by the president at a festive, celebratory all-college gathering.
