Integrative Learning
Integrative learning connects theory to practice, and the classroom to the world. At Smith, students explore individual passions and develop innovative responses to society’s complex and interconnected challenges.
What does Integrative Learning at Smith look like?
Integrative learning spans disciplines and can happen within your major, minor, or concentration. It can take place through a workshop offered by one of our centers or initiatives, or during an internship or original research in our special collections. At Smith, you can collaborate with faculty and staff on independent and collaborative research and creative projects—with these resources, there are no limits on what you can learn, connect, and create.
Collections
Since its founding, Smith College has invested in building world-class cultural, historical, and scientific collections. Combined, these materials represent what is uniquely Smith—rare and unique collections that embody, enable, and embolden liberal arts education.
