The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) serves as a central point of information and coordination to ensure equal access and full participation for students with disabilities in all programs and activities at Smith College.

Our mission is to proactively identify and remove barriers to participation wherever possible, working to promote a disability-positive and inclusive climate at Smith. We understand each student may embody multiple identities and brings diverse perspectives which contribute to a rich living and learning environment. We value student engagement and agency in the collaborative, interactive accommodation process.

Maria Schiano

Associate Dean of Student Affairs; Director of Accessibility Resource Center

she/her
Maria Schiano has worked in higher education disability services for 20 years, specializing in disability services and access, LGBTQ+ services, and promoting intersectionality and inclusion through a social justice lens. Maria was elected to be the president-elect of AHEAD’s (Association of Higher Education and Disability) board of directors.

Molly Lombardo

Associate Director of Accessibility Resource Center

Molly Lombardo, M.S.W., M.Ed has been working in disability and access services in higher education for the past five years. Before transitioning to higher education, Molly practiced clinical social work, supporting clients with disabilities across the lifespan.

Lisa Page

Accommodations Coordinator

she/her
Lisa Page, MS, has been working as the accommodation coordinator at ARC for the past three years. Prior to transitioning into this role, she was ARC’s administrative assistant for twelve years.

Cooper Wall

Assistive Technologist

he/they
Cooper Wall comes to Smith College from two different paths. Here, he brings a master’s in media studies from NYC’s New School and a deep interest in technology with a professional background working with different populations in educational settings.

Ren Llewellyn

Jacobson Center Learning Specialist

he/him
Ren Llewellyn works one-on-one with students to strengthen academic skills, including study skills, reading, time management, organization, and executive functioning. Ren teaches IDP 136: Skills for Academic Success, a course designed to help students cultivate effective learning strategies and build sustainable academic habits.
