Ya-Ching Hsu

Biography
Ya-Ching Hsu grew up in Taichung, Taiwan. She received her master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan Normal University. She has been teaching Chinese language since 2009 and her teaching experience ranges from beginning to advanced level courses, as well as heritage courses and language for professional use.
Her research interests include critical literacy and DEI in language teaching, task-based language teaching, curriculum development, and heritage language education.
Hsu has been presenting regularly at conferences and has published in various journals and conference proceedings. Her most recent published article is “DEI in Chinese heritage language education—Using the AAPI unit as an example” (Co-written, 2022), which focuses on embedding diversity, equity, inclusion concept into the curriculum of heritage courses.
