Nancy Zigler

Nancy Jimenez Zigler (she/ella) is the Director of Programs and Partnerships at the Jandon Center for Community Engagement. At Smith, she also teaches part-time as a university lecturer in the field of Community Engagement and Social Change, and runs several skill-building social-justice oriented fellowships. Throughout her career, Zigler has provided organizational and operational support to the federal government and private sector.  

Prior to working at Smith, Zigler worked for NASA, Union Pacific Railroad, the EPA, and research labs across the country. She also participated in a graduate teaching fellowship where she taught journalism, literature, composition, and fiction writing courses at the University of Pittsburgh. Zigler’s work outside of higher education involved designing pathways for equitable access to experiential programs for high school students in the state of Texas, supporting clean air initiatives, and researching sustainable fuel cell mechanisms in a laboratory setting. The trajectory of her work has included providing creative and sustainable solutions to operational structures at a wide intersection of organizations. 

Zigler is passionate about the intersection of art, literature, and writing, most recently receiving the juried 2022 Winter Short Story Award from The Masters Review.
