Michael R. Carrick
Visiting Assistant Professor in Ethics Across the Curriculum
Michael Carrick’s research is primarily focused on issues at the intersection of ethics and value theory, with an emphasis on animal welfare. He also has an interest in the ethics of emerging technologies, environmental sustainability, and policy decisions related to existential risk. His recent publications include “On the Possibility and Probability of Post-Persons: Neuroenhancements and Moral Status” in Neuroethics and “Preserving the Preservation of Opportunity Principle” in Ethics, Policy & Environment, as well as two co-written entries, on environmental sustainability and environmental protection, for the Encyclopedia of Global Justice.
He primarily teaches ethics classes.
