Catherine Mikkelsen
Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience
Biography
Catherine is a Post-Doctoral Fellow working with Dr. Maya Rosen in the Mind in Development Lab at Smith. She studies the impact of the home environment on the development of executive functions like working memory and cognitive flexibility. Additionally, she studies environmental, cognitive, and biological factors that drive resiliency in the face of stressors.
She is passionate about using computational methods to aid her research, and sharing these methods with others. Prior to coming to Smith, Catherine received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Boston University.
