How did Smith’s open curriculum help you explore academically?
I entered undecided, and the limited requirements allowed me to take classes that interested me opposed to ones I felt forced to take, and it gave me much more space to figure out where my passions lie!
What is your favorite thing about your house at Smith?
I think I'm obligated to say the stir fry.
What do you love most about Northampton?
There are so many local shops and food places to explore when you're bored.
What is your favorite Smith tradition?
Either Quad Riot (our annual pre-Mountain Day water fight!) or Sib week!
What is the best class you’ve taken outside of your major?
Sociology of Sexuality.
What do you think has been the most “Smithie” thing you’ve done in life so far?
Bleached my hair and dyed it back the next day.
Is there a piece of advice you wish you could go back and tell yourself as a first-year?
Don't pigeon-hole yourself socially or academically, just keep trying new things and try not to stress about how things might go wrong! The more you explore, the more likely you are to find your place.
