Free and (Un)fair? The Supreme Court and Voting Rights in the United States with Joseph Cozza

This workshop will examine the Supreme Court's voting rights jurisprudence from the Warren Court to the Roberts Court. More specifically, we will discuss how the Court has approached questions of redistricting, voter ID laws, campaign finance, and minority voting rights as well as the Constitutional basis for such decisions. Broadly, the goal of this workshop is to both understand the Supreme Court's jurisprudence and to question the role the Court has played in the expansion and contraction of voting rights in the United States.
