Discussion led by Travis Grandy, Associate Director of Learning, Research, and Technology (ITS)

This one-hour session invites faculty to explore the challenges and opportunities presented by generative AI. We will collectively process concerns about its impact on student assignments—like the future of the traditional essay—while also identifying new pedagogical possibilities. The conversation will be anchored by examples from instructors who are already exploring productive uses of GenAI in their courses, offering a starting point for us to reflect on ways AI tools can impact teaching and learning. This session complements the Teaching Arts Roundtable discussion on November 21 offered by the Sherrerd Center for Teaching and Learning.
