Join us to hear from CEEDS Faculty Fellow Efadul Huq about his research. What would it mean to value agriculture in terms of care per acre? Bringing a queer-feminist perspective to the work of farming, this talk asks which labor counts, how care is shared, and what relationships sustain life with the land. It considers the possibility of more people working smaller areas of land, and the conditions needed to make that work livable, equitable, and sustaining. How might care reshape our understanding of agricultural productivity and the futures we pursue? Through these questions, Care per Acre explores an orientation towards other agrofutures, attending to how everyday practices of cultivation might open possibilities for working the land and living together differently.
