Weather Alert: Ivy Day

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Ivy Day ceremony will be held at the Indoor Track and Tennis Facility. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for guests. Overflow seating will be available at Sweeney Concert Hall in Sage Hall, where the livestream will be shown. Graduates should arrive at the glass door entrance of Ainsworth Gym no later than 8:45 a.m. to assemble for the Alumnae Parade.

Biography

Laura Grandi is an Argentine tango dancer, scholar, and teacher. Over the years, Laura has trained with the most recognized tango masters in Buenos Aires. She has been invited to teach workshops at the Buenos Aires International Tango Festival 10 times, was selected to study at "Espacio Nacional Tango Argentino" run by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina, has a diploma in Tango issued by the University of Buenos Aires, and studied choreography, composition and dance theater at the IUNA (Universitary Institute of Art).

Her passion and love for dance has enabled her to promote, perform and teach Argentine tango and culture in cities, dance schools, and festivals across Latin America, North America and Europe.

Laura spends her days teaching and organizing tango classes and workshops between Boston, Northampton, and Brattleboro and growing the tango community of Northampton, where she is currently based.
